Shine a Light on Slavery Day

Nothing happens just because we are aware of modern-day slavery, but nothing will ever happen until we are.

-Gary Haugen, CEO of International Justice Mission

Did you know there are currently more people trapped in slavery than ever before in history? 500,000 American women and children are actively trafficked in the United States daily. Most say “It’s horrible, but it doesn’t happen here. Not in my small community. Not in my neighborhood.” But that is simply not true. This modern day slavery is often kept in the shadows and hidden behind whispers.

Not anymore.

Not if we have anything to do with it.

January 13th, is Shine a Light on Slavery Day. By drawing a Red X on your hand, you can help open the door to conversations about human trafficking. While this may seem like a small step to take, together we can open culture’s eyes to the reality of modern day slavery. The more people that know, the less hiding places where darkness can live.

You play a part.

You make a difference.

You are a culture changer.

Together, we can make our world safer. Want to help more? Go to esthersrisingministry.com/volunteer to join our team or become a monthly donor.
